Do not chase one yard.

The longest and fifth-longest balls were separated by less than two yards, so one headline number should not override dispersion or approach performance.

02 · FLIGHT

Read the whole window.

Lower-speed players often benefit when a ball adds useful apex and descent angle. A high flight is valuable only when it produces predictable carry and stopping power.

03 · CONTROL

Fit the scoring shots.

Urethane balls can add short-game spin, but the best choice still has to fit your feel preference and budget. Test chips and pitches before committing to a dozen.

Is 85 mph enough swing speed for a tour ball?

Yes. A tour-urethane ball can fit many speeds. The decision should come from launch, spin, dispersion, approach control, feel and price—not a compression label alone.

Should I simply buy the longest ball in the test?

No. The carry leaders are often separated by only a few yards. A slightly shorter ball can be the better fit if it tightens dispersion or creates a more useful iron landing angle.

What if my swing speed falls between test groups?

Use the nearest profile as a starting point, then enter any launch-monitor numbers you have in the fitter. It can use one measurement or a full set of numbers.

How should I confirm the recommendation?

Test the top two balls on the course, beginning with chips, pitches and your most common approach shot. Finish with the driver after you know both balls work around the green.
